STPM Perakaunan Tuition Online (948)
STPM Perakaunan by semester: financial accounting in Semesters 1 and 2, management accounting in Semester 3, and the computerised accounting coursework.
Afterkelas teaches STPM Perakaunan online to Form 6 students across all three semesters. University tutors run live classes, 1-to-1 or in small groups, explaining in English or Bahasa Melayu while statements and answers are practised in the Malay formats of the 948 papers.
What STPM Perakaunan covers
The 15 topics of the current syllabus, with the English meaning first and the Malay title in brackets. Topic 4, the computerised accounting system, runs through all three semesters as coursework.

Two semesters of financial accounting, then management accounting
Semester 1 builds the foundations: the accounting cycle, adjustments at the end of a period, and the treatment of assets, liabilities and equity. Semester 2 applies them to different organisations, from incomplete records and partnerships to limited companies and cooperatives, and to the analysis of financial statements. Semester 3 changes direction to management accounting, the costing and decisions used inside a business.
Each paper has four compulsory questions in 2 hours, so there is no choosing around a weak topic. Tutors cover every topic in the semester and practise full questions under time.
Where marks are lost
Accounting answers lose marks to format as much as to arithmetic: a statement without the right headings, an adjustment posted to the wrong side, a figure without its working. Tutors mark practice questions the way the scheme does, so a student sees where each mark sits.
In Semester 3, costing questions mix calculation with judgement. After working out an overhead rate or a break-even point, the student is often asked what it means for a decision, and that explanation is marked too.
The computerised accounting coursework
Topic 4, the computerised accounting system, is assessed as coursework across all three semesters and is worth 20 percent of the grade. Candidates who cannot do it at school, such as private candidates, sit a written alternative paper in Semester 3 instead. A tutor can explain the accounting behind each task and how the software's reports relate to statements prepared by hand, but will not do any part of the coursework.
A question, worked through
A Semester 3 costing question on a predetermined overhead absorption rate, from the topic Kaedah Pengekosan. The paper sets it in Malay; the working is the same in any language.
Question
(A factory budgets RM60,000 of factory overhead and 12,000 machine hours for next year. Find the predetermined absorption rate per machine hour, and the overhead absorbed by a job using 30 machine hours.)
- The rate is the budgeted overhead divided by the budgeted level of the chosen base, here machine hours.
- (a) RM60,000 ÷ 12,000 machine hours = RM5 per machine hour.
- (b) Overhead absorbed by the job = 30 hours × RM5 = RM150.
- At the end of the year, the overhead absorbed is compared with the actual overhead to find whether it was under-absorbed or over-absorbed, and the difference is recorded in the accounts.
Answer (a) RM5 per machine hour. (b) RM150.
Frequently asked questions
Is STPM Perakaunan taught in English?
The papers are set in Bahasa Melayu only, so tutors practise every statement and answer in the Malay format. They can explain a topic in English where that helps.
My child did not take Prinsip Perakaunan for SPM. Can they take STPM Perakaunan?
Yes. Semester 1 starts from the foundations of financial accounting, but it moves quickly, and a student new to double entry benefits from extra practice in the first month.
When should Perakaunan tuition start?
At the start of Semester 1, since every later topic depends on the accounting cycle and the papers have no optional questions. A student who starts in Semester 3 can begin directly with management accounting, which builds less on the first two semesters.
How much does STPM Perakaunan tuition cost?
The fee depends on the format (1-to-1 or a small group), how many classes a week and the tutor, so there is no single figure. Send an academic advisor the current semester, the college and any semester results so far on WhatsApp, and you will get the current packages and a quote, usually within one working day.
