Diploma Tuition Online for Polytechnic, University and College Students
Online tuition for diploma students in Malaysia, in the engineering, accounting and computing courses that shape a diploma CGPA and the route to a degree.
Afterkelas tutors diploma students online in courses such as Engineering Mathematics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Financial Accounting and Programming. Tutors run live classes, 1-to-1 or in small groups, from the student's own course outline at a polytechnic, university or college.
Diploma subjects we teach
Diploma courses cover much of the same core as the first years of a degree, at their own depth and pace, so each subject below links to a page shared with degree students. Every page lists the core topics and works through one problem, and the tutor follows your diploma course outline for the depth and the order.
- Engineering Mathematics
Calculus, differential equations, Laplace transforms and matrices.
- Thermodynamics
Properties and steam tables, the first and second laws, and power cycles.
- Fluid Mechanics
Fluid statics, continuity, Bernoulli, momentum and pipe flow.
- Material Science
Structure and properties, stress and strain, and phase diagrams.
- Programming
C, C++, Java or Python, from selection and loops to functions and arrays.
- Computer Science
Data structures, algorithms, databases and networks.
- Financial Accounting and Reporting
The MFRS standards, from inventories and property to group accounts.
- Managerial Accounting
Costing methods, budgets, variances and decisions.
- Corporate Finance
The time value of money, valuation and capital budgeting.
What a diploma is
A diploma sits at Level 4 of the Malaysian Qualifications Framework, between a certificate and a bachelor's degree. The framework sets at least 90 credits and, unless the discipline requires otherwise, at least two years of full-time study, for academic and technical and vocational (TVET) diplomas alike. Polytechnics, public universities, and private colleges and universities all offer diplomas, and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency accredits the programmes.
A diploma is built to lead to work, in technical, semi-professional and para-professional jobs, or on to a degree. That second route makes the diploma CGPA matter twice: once for the diploma itself, and again when a university decides on entry to a degree.
From SPM to the first semester
Many students start a diploma straight after SPM, and the first semester moves faster than school. Engineering students meet calculus and mechanics in weekly lectures, with tests through the semester; accounting students work through financial accounting faster than school did; computing students write their first programs against a deadline. The hardest part is often the pace, along with the habit of keeping up without a teacher checking every exercise.
Tutors use the first weeks to secure what the rest of the course stands on: differentiation and integration for engineering, the accounting equation and adjustments for accounting, and tracing simple code for computing. A gap closed in the first month is far cheaper than a course repeated a year later.
Your course outline, not a generic one
Polytechnics, universities and colleges each write their own diploma courses, so a course with the same name can differ in depth and order from one institution to the next. The tutor starts from your course outline, lecture notes and past assessments, and teaches to how the course is assessed: quizzes, tests, lab work, assignments and the final exam.
Assignments and academic integrity
Assignments, lab reports, projects and code are assessed as the student's own work, and institutions treat outside help with them as misconduct. A tutor explains the concepts and methods behind an assignment and works through similar problems, but does not write, code or complete any part of assessed work.
This is also the approach that helps most, because the final exam tests the same understanding without notes or help.
From diploma to degree
Diploma graduates who continue to a degree often find that their diploma courses overlap with the first years of the degree. The Malaysian Qualifications Framework allows credit transfer and exemption between programmes, so a university can give credit for courses already passed, and each university sets how much it grants. Tutors teach the degree versions of the same subjects, so a student can keep the same tutor across both.
A question, worked through
A rate-of-change problem from a first Engineering Mathematics course, applied to a capacitor charging in a circuit.
Question
The voltage across a charging capacitor is V = 12(1 − e^(−t/2)) volts, where t is the time in seconds. Find the rate at which the voltage is rising at t = 2 s.
- Write V = 12 − 12e^(−t/2) and differentiate term by term: dV/dt = −12 × (−½)e^(−t/2) = 6e^(−t/2) V s⁻¹.
- At t = 2, the exponent is −1, so dV/dt = 6e⁻¹.
- e⁻¹ ≈ 0.368, so dV/dt ≈ 2.21 V s⁻¹.
- Check the sense: the rate is 6 V s⁻¹ at t = 0 and falls towards zero as V approaches 12 V, as a charging capacitor should.
Answer dV/dt = 6e⁻¹ ≈ 2.21 V s⁻¹.
Frequently asked questions
Do you tutor polytechnic diploma students?
Yes. Tutors work from your polytechnic course outline and past assessments, in the language your course is taught and examined in, English or Bahasa Melayu.
Is diploma Engineering Mathematics the same as the degree course?
It covers much of the same core at its own depth. The subject pages here list the core topics for both, and the tutor follows your diploma course outline.
Can a tutor do my assignment or lab report?
No. Assignments, lab reports and projects are assessed as your own work. The tutor explains the concepts, works through similar problems and checks your understanding, which is also what the final exam tests.
I failed a course in my first semester. Can tuition help?
Yes. Repeating a course is a good time for tuition: the tutor finds the topics that lost the most marks, rebuilds them from the start and practises the question types from past papers.
Can I book help for one test only?
Yes. Some students book a few sessions before a test or the final exam; others take weekly classes through the semester. An academic advisor suggests a plan after seeing the course outline.
How much does diploma tuition cost?
The fee depends on the format (1-to-1 or a small group), how many classes a week and the tutor, so there is no single figure. Send an academic advisor the institution, the course code and the course outline on WhatsApp, and you will get the current packages and a quote, usually within one working day.
