Cambridge releases its November 2026 exam results in two waves: Cambridge International AS and A Level results on Thursday 7 January 2027, then Cambridge IGCSE and O Level results a week later, on Thursday 14 January 2027. Both come out at 06:00 GMT, which is 2:00 pm in Malaysia.[1]
That time needs care, because Cambridge's own results page labels the release "06:00 GMT/UTC+1", and anyone who converts the "UTC+1" part arrives at 1:00 pm. In January the UK is on GMT, so 2:00 pm is the right answer, and the section on timing below shows why.
This guide gives both results days in Malaysian time and explains how your school passes results on. It also covers grade thresholds and certificates, then what to do if a grade disappoints you: a remark through your school by Friday 26 February 2027, or a resit in June or November 2027. A checklist and a section for MRSM families close it.
Afterkelas is an online tuition school, not part of Cambridge, so your school's notices come first. Every date here comes from Cambridge or another official source, linked in the notes, and we will add the August 2027 dates when Cambridge announces them.
When are Cambridge IGCSE and A Level results released in January 2027?
Cambridge has published two dates for the November 2026 series, one for each group of qualifications.
| Qualification | Results day | UK time | Malaysia time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cambridge International AS & A Level, Cambridge AICE and Cambridge IPQ | Thursday 7 January 2027 | 06:00 GMT | 2:00 pm |
| Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge O Level and Cambridge ICE | Thursday 14 January 2027 | 06:00 GMT | 2:00 pm |
Cambridge released its November 2025 results the same way: AS and A Level results on Friday 9 January 2026, then IGCSE and O Level results on Thursday 15 January 2026. It split the June 2026 results in August too.[2] If you sat AS papers and IGCSE papers in this series, you have two results days.
The November series is a big one in Malaysia. When Cambridge released the November 2025 IGCSE results, it named Malaysia, where entries rose by 4%, among the countries making the most entries, alongside Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa and Argentina. Government schools reopen on Monday 4 January 2027, so A Level results land in the first week of the school year and IGCSE results in the second; our school holidays guide has the full 2027 calendar.
Cambridge's help page adds two details. Schools "can issue these results to candidates immediately", so 2:00 pm is the earliest your results can reach you, though your school decides how and when. And the dates apply to the majority of schools: Cambridge releases results for certain organisations on different dates, and those organisations pass the dates on to their own candidates.
What time are Cambridge results released in Malaysia?
At 2:00 pm. Cambridge releases results at 06:00 UK time, and in January the UK is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is the same as UTC. Malaysia does not change its clocks and stays eight hours ahead of UTC all year, so 06:00 GMT is 2:00 pm here. Singapore and Brunei share the same clock.[3]
The confusion starts on Cambridge's results page, which gives the time as "06:00 GMT/UTC+1".[4] Read as GMT, that is 2:00 pm in Malaysia. Read as UTC+1, the offset of British Summer Time, it would mean 05:00 UTC, or 1:00 pm here. British Summer Time ends on Sunday 25 October 2026 and returns on Sunday 28 March 2027, so it does not apply on either results day.[5]
One label, two readings
Cambridge's results page gives the January release as "06:00 GMT/UTC+1". Drag to compare the two ways of converting it to Malaysia time.
The "+1" looks like a leftover from the summer. In August the same page gave the June 2026 release as "06:00 BST/UTC+1", which was right at the time, because British Summer Time is UTC+1. For January, Cambridge changed "BST" to "GMT" and kept the "UTC+1".
Two other sources point to 2:00 pm. Cambridge's help centre gives the January times as "06:00 GMT/UTC", with no "+1". And January 2026 ran on the same clock: the November 2025 IGCSE grade threshold tables, which Cambridge posts on results day, went online at 06:00 GMT on Thursday 15 January 2026, 2:00 pm in Malaysia.[6] August results are different: the UK is on summer time then, so the same 06:00 release reaches Malaysia at 1:00 pm.
How do I check my Cambridge results?
Through your school. Cambridge releases results to schools on Direct, its secure website for exams officers, and the school passes them to you. You may have to collect them in person, or your school may give you a password for Cambridge's Candidate Results website, myresults.cie.org.uk.
- Cambridge releases results to schools at 2:00 pm
- Your school passes them on, in person or by login
- Printed statements reach schools from late January
- Certificates arrive by the end of March
Schools can create Candidate Results logins for the November series from early October, and the site shows your results until mid-March.[7] Schools issue these logins themselves, so if you have none by results week, or have lost yours, ask your school's exams officer.
Private candidates, who sit Cambridge exams through a centre rather than their own school, follow the same route with that centre. That includes students at government schools who take an IGCSE subject privately. Cambridge's private candidate page lists the British Council among the organisations that accept private candidates in Malaysia, and Cambridge leaves the centre's name off private candidates' statements and certificates.[8]
What your statement of results shows
The statement of results lists every syllabus you were entered for and the grade Cambridge awarded in each. Grades are printed as a capital letter followed by the lower-case letter in brackets, for example B(b), so that nobody can alter them by hand.[9]
| Qualification | Grades, highest to lowest |
|---|---|
| Cambridge IGCSE | A* to G |
| Cambridge IGCSE (9 to 1) | 9 to 1 |
| Cambridge O Level | A* to E |
| Cambridge International AS Level | a to e |
| Cambridge International A Level | A* to E |
Three other entries can appear. UNGRADED means the work did not reach the lowest grade; it shows on the statement, but no certificate follows for that syllabus. NO RESULT, or X, usually means a component is missing, for example because you were recorded as absent. PENDING, or Q, means Cambridge cannot issue the result yet but will.
Schools outside the UK receive the printed statements between late January and early February. A statement is not a certificate, and some universities may not accept it as proof, so keep it safe until the certificate comes. Check the spelling of your name and your date of birth as soon as you see it: your school must tell Cambridge about any changes by Friday 26 February 2027, so the certificate is printed correctly.
Certificates, and sending results to a university
Cambridge sends certificates for the November 2026 series after the enquiry deadline, in mid-March 2027, and schools should have them by the end of March. If an enquiry about one of your results is still open at that point, your certificate follows once it closes.
Cambridge asks candidates not to send screenshots from the Candidate Results website to universities. If a university needs your grades on results day, use the priority results service: you or your school send Cambridge's priority results form by Saturday 19 December 2026, and Cambridge sends a statement of results straight to the university on results day. Forms that arrive later are still accepted until results are published, without the same-day promise. The first statement costs £68 per qualification and each extra copy £19, plus delivery if you choose a tracked courier. Students who applied to UK universities through UCAS do not need it, because Cambridge sends AS and A Level results to UCAS itself.[10]
Grade thresholds: when they come out, and which row is yours
Cambridge defines a grade threshold as "the minimum number of marks that a candidate needs to achieve to be awarded a particular grade in a paper or in a subject". It sets thresholds after marking, lowering them when a paper proved harder than before and raising them when it proved easier, and publishes one table per syllabus. The tables go up within minutes of the release: at 2:00 pm Malaysian time on the IGCSE results day in January 2026, and at 1:12 pm on the one in August 2026.[11]
Which row applies to you depends on the paper variant you sat. To keep papers secure across time zones, Cambridge usually sets three versions of each paper, and the second digit of a paper code is the version: component 23 is the third variant of Paper 2. Malaysia is in Cambridge's administrative zone 5 Definition A part of the world where clocks read similar times. Cambridge has six, places every school in one by location, and gives each zone its own timetable for every series. . In the November 2026 series, zone 5 takes variant 2 of IGCSE Mathematics (0580/22 and 0580/42 for Extended candidates) but variant 3 of Additional Mathematics (0606/13 and 0606/23). A Level Mathematics (9709) is variant 3 as well.[12]
So a Malaysian Additional Mathematics candidate reads the row for components 13 and 23, not the first row printed. Variants change from series to series, so check the paper codes on your own timetable or statement of entry. Your school also receives your grade for each component, so your teachers can see which paper held you back. Cambridge says schools can share that breakdown with candidates who are deciding on a resit or a remark.
If your statement shows a percentage beside a grade, that is a percentage uniform mark. Cambridge says it is not the same as your raw or component mark and cannot be used with the threshold tables.
How to ask for a remark (enquiry about results)
Cambridge calls a remark an enquiry about results, and only your school, or the centre you entered through, can request one. The head of centre must support every request, and Cambridge will not consider requests from candidates or parents. For the November 2026 series the deadline is Friday 26 February 2027, and Cambridge accepts nothing later, because it starts disposing of scripts shortly after that date. Your school may set an earlier internal date, so raise it with your teacher in the week your results arrive.
| Service | What Cambridge checks | Not available for |
|---|---|---|
| Service 1: clerical re-check | That every part of the script was marked and the marks were added up and recorded correctly. Nobody reviews the marking. | Work your school marked |
| Service 1S | As Service 1, and you receive a copy of the script | Work your school marked |
| Service 2: review of marking | That the mark scheme was applied correctly, plus the Service 1 checks | Multiple-choice papers, and work your school marked |
| Service 2S | As Service 2, with a copy of the script | Multiple-choice papers, and work your school marked |
Enquiries are made paper by paper, and the school must submit all of a candidate's enquiries for a syllabus at once. Cambridge normally sends the outcome within 30 days of receiving the request.
Your percentage uniform mark can still move either way, and if a lowered component mark is carried forward to a later series, Cambridge uses the lower mark. Cambridge does not publish its enquiry fees; schools find them on Direct, and Cambridge invoices the school only for enquiries that do not change the grade.[13]
Before you decide, ask whether your school uses Access to Scripts, a free service Cambridge is introducing in phases. It lets teachers download marked scripts after results day, until Friday 12 March 2027 for this series, and Cambridge describes it as a way to help decide whether to apply for an enquiry.[14]
When can you resit Cambridge IGCSE or A Level in Malaysia?
In June 2027 or November 2027. Cambridge also runs a March series, but only for schools in India and Romania; the IGCSE Mathematics syllabus, for example, offers its March exams in India only.[15] For candidates in Malaysia, June 2027 is the next sitting.
Entries for June 2027 open in mid-November 2026, and Cambridge's own deadline for most entries falls in February 2027 (for June 2026 it was 21 February 2026). Schools and private-candidate centres set their own closing dates, which can be earlier, so speak to yours as soon as you know you want to resit.
You do not have to wait for a remark before entering. If an enquiry raises your grade after you have entered a resit, Cambridge credits the entry fee to your school when it withdraws you. Cambridge also warns that it cannot guarantee an enquiry outcome in time to help you prepare for the next series.
AS Level students can use their November 2026 AS results towards a full A Level in June 2027, November 2027 or both, if the syllabus allows it: Cambridge lets an AS result be carried forward twice within 13 months.

When are the August 2027 results?
Cambridge has not yet announced the results dates for the June 2027 series. The June 2026 series shows the usual shape: AS and A Level results on Tuesday 11 August 2026, then IGCSE and O Level results a week later, on Tuesday 18 August, each at 06:00 British Summer Time, which was 1:00 pm in Malaysia.
| Series | AS & A Level | IGCSE and O Level | Malaysia time |
|---|---|---|---|
| June 2026 | Tuesday 11 August 2026 | Tuesday 18 August 2026 | 1:00 pm |
| June 2027 | Not yet announced | Not yet announced | Not yet announced |
If Cambridge keeps its 06:00 UK release, August results will again reach Malaysia at 1:00 pm, because the UK is on summer time then. We will add the 2027 dates here once Cambridge publishes them.
What to do after your results, by situation
The right next step depends on where you are heading. For Malaysian public universities, SPM still matters: under UPU's 2026/2027 rules, A Level holders applying for a degree also needed SPM with a credit in Bahasa Melayu and a pass in Sejarah.[16]

If a university needs your grades quickly, send Cambridge's priority results form by 19 December 2026, so Cambridge sends a statement to the university on results day. Applicants to UK universities through UCAS can skip this, because Cambridge sends A Level results to UCAS. If you miss a condition by a few marks, ask your teacher about a review of marking in the same week, and let the university know you have asked.
Your results-day checklist
For MRSM families: IGCSE results in January
MARA runs its Dual Certification Programme (IGCSE) at selected MRSMs, which its MRSM FAQ lists. Students in it follow the same core subjects as the MRSM Premier programme, add a third language, take Cambridge Checkpoint in Forms 1 and 2, and go on to sit Cambridge IGCSE alongside SPM.[17]
If your child is sitting IGCSE papers at an MRSM in the November 2026 series, whose timetabled papers run in Malaysia from 28 September to 12 November 2026, the results come out with every other Cambridge IGCSE result: Thursday 14 January 2027, at 2:00 pm. They reach students through the MRSM, which decides how to hand them out. If you are unsure which series or subjects your child was entered for, ask the MRSM.
The rest of this guide applies unchanged. Remarks go through the MRSM by Friday 26 February 2027, and a remark cannot lower the grade. The IGCSE certificate, due at the college by the end of March, comes in addition to SPM: your child still sits SPM at the end of Form 5, and UPU asks for SPM results when your child applies to a public university.
Frequently asked questions
When are Cambridge IGCSE results released in January 2027?
On Thursday 14 January 2027, at 06:00 GMT, which is 2:00 pm in Malaysia. The date covers the November 2026 series for Cambridge IGCSE, O Level and ICE. Your school decides how you receive them.
When are Cambridge A Level results released in January 2027?
On Thursday 7 January 2027, at 06:00 GMT, which is 2:00 pm in Malaysia. AS and A Level results come out a week before IGCSE and O Level results.
Are Cambridge results out at 1:00 pm or 2:00 pm in Malaysia?
2:00 pm in January. Cambridge releases results at 06:00 UK time, and the UK is on GMT in January. A time of 1:00 pm comes from Cambridge's results page, which labels the release "06:00 GMT/UTC+1". UTC+1 is British Summer Time, which applies to the August results, released at 1:00 pm in Malaysia.
How do I check my Cambridge results online?
Through Cambridge's Candidate Results website, myresults.cie.org.uk, with login details from your school. Some schools ask students to collect results in person instead. If you have lost your login, contact the exams officer at your school or centre. Private candidates get their results from the centre they entered through.
When are Cambridge grade thresholds for the November 2026 series published?
On results day: the AS and A Level tables on 7 January 2027 and the IGCSE and O Level tables on 14 January 2027. In January 2026 the IGCSE tables went online at 2:00 pm Malaysian time, the moment results were released. Read the row for the paper variants you sat; Malaysia is in Cambridge's administrative zone 5.
When will I receive my Cambridge certificate?
For the November 2026 series, Cambridge sends certificates in mid-March 2027, and schools should have them by the end of March. If an enquiry about one of your results is still open, that certificate follows once it closes. Until then, your statement of results is your record.
What is the deadline for a Cambridge remark?
Friday 26 February 2027 for the November 2026 series. Only your school or centre can submit an enquiry about results, and the head of centre must support it. Cambridge does not accept requests from candidates or parents, or any request after the deadline.
Can my grade go down after a Cambridge remark?
No. Cambridge's rules say the syllabus grade will either stay the same or go up after an enquiry about results, even if a component mark goes down. Your percentage uniform mark can still rise or fall.
When can I resit IGCSE or A Level in Malaysia?
In the June 2027 or November 2027 series. Cambridge's March series is only for schools in India and Romania. Entries for June 2027 open in mid-November 2026, and Cambridge's deadline falls in February 2027; schools and centres may close their lists earlier.
When are the June 2027 Cambridge results?
Cambridge has not announced them yet. In 2026, AS and A Level results came out on Tuesday 11 August and IGCSE and O Level results on Tuesday 18 August, both at 1:00 pm in Malaysia.
