The Cambridge IGCSE and A Level timetable for November 2026 runs in Malaysia from Monday 28 September to Thursday 12 November 2026.[1] Malaysia is in Cambridge's administrative Zone 5, where the morning, afternoon and evening sessions have Key Times of 9:00 am, 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm Malaysian time.[2]
Cambridge prints a separate timetable for each zone, and it lists every paper against a session, AM, PM or EV, without a clock time. The clock times sit in a lookup on another page of Cambridge's website. This page puts the two together for the IGCSE and AS & A Level papers Malaysian students sit most, adds the paper variants Zone 5 sits, and sets out what is already known about June 2027.
Your school's own exam timetable gives the start and finish time of each paper. Cambridge makes the school responsible for telling you those times and any change to them, so if your school's timetable and this page ever disagree, ask your exams officer.
Which Cambridge zone is Malaysia in?
Zone 5. Cambridge gives every location one of six administrative zones, each with its own timetable, to keep exams secure, and its lookup puts Kuala Lumpur in Zone 5. Zone 5 timetables and entry guides are clearly marked and colour-coded blue, so a timetable that is not marked Zone 5 is the wrong one for Malaysia.[3] Singapore and Brunei are in Zone 5 too, with the same Key Times as Malaysia.
| Session | Key Time in Malaysia | Same moment in GMT/UTC |
|---|---|---|
| Morning (AM) | 9:00 am | 01:00 |
| Afternoon (PM) | 1:00 pm | 05:00 |
| Evening (EV) | 5:00 pm | 09:00 |
The UK moves its clocks back from British Summer Time to GMT on 25 October 2026, during the series. That changes nothing for Malaysian candidates. Malaysia keeps the same clock all year, so a morning paper's Key Time is 9:00 am on the first day of the series and on the last.
The evening session exists only in zones 4 and 5, and only for a limited number of papers.[4] Among the subjects on this page, the only evening paper is IGCSE Economics Paper 1 (0455/13) on Wednesday 4 November, with a 5:00 pm Key Time.
What time do Cambridge exams start in Malaysia?
Cambridge does not set start times. The Cambridge Handbook lets each school choose when its papers start, on one condition: at the Key Time, every candidate must be either sitting the paper or under Full Centre Supervision Definition Supervision by trained school staff in a room with only the candidates taking the same exam: no phones or other devices and no contact with anyone outside the group until the Key Time passes or the paper starts. . An afternoon paper in Malaysia might start at 1:00 pm, at 12:30 pm or at 2:00 pm, but its Key Time is 1:00 pm in every case.
What the Key Time decides is what happens around the paper. Here are the Handbook's own patterns, set against Malaysia's 1:00 pm afternoon Key Time:
| If the paper runs | Before the paper | After the paper |
|---|---|---|
| 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm (starts at the Key Time) | Nothing extra | Leave when it ends |
| 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm (the Key Time falls inside it) | Nothing extra | Leave when it ends |
| 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm (starts after the Key Time) | Under full supervision from 1:00 pm until it starts | Leave when it ends |
| 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm (ends before the Key Time) | Nothing extra | Under full supervision until 1:00 pm |
Full Centre Supervision has firm rules. While you are under it:
- You may not have a phone, smart watch, laptop or any other electronic device, with or without internet access.
- You may not contact anyone outside the supervised group, in the school or outside it.
- You may read printed books and notes (notes on a device are not allowed), and you may talk to the other candidates in the group.
- You may leave the room only with a supervisor. There must be at least one supervisor for every 30 candidates.
- Missing a period of supervision after a paper is reported to Cambridge at once as suspected malpractice.
How to find your own exam times
- Get your statement of entry
- Find each code in the tables
- Note the session: AM, PM or EV
- Get the start time from your school
- Be there before the Key Time
Your statement of entry is Cambridge's record of what you are entered for: your syllabuses, your entry options, and the date and session of each timetabled paper. Cambridge asks schools to share it with every candidate, private candidates included, so you can check the details. Check your name too: it is printed on your results and certificates exactly as it appears there.
Then find each code from it in the tables below. The code tells you more than the subject: 0610/43 is Biology Paper 4, and the 3 at the end is the variant Zone 5 sits, which matters when grade thresholds come out.
Cambridge IGCSE November 2026 timetable in Malaysian time
Each row is one paper, with its day, its session and Key Time in Malaysian time (MYT, UTC+8), and the length Cambridge prints, which already includes any reading time. In Mathematics, Core candidates take Papers 1 and 3 and Extended candidates take Papers 2 and 4. In Biology, Chemistry and Physics, Core candidates take Papers 1 and 3, Extended candidates take Papers 2 and 4, and everyone takes one practical paper: Paper 5 (Practical Test) or Paper 6 (Alternative to Practical).[5] If you are not sure which tier you are entered for, check your statement of entry; our Cambridge IGCSE page explains how Core and Extended entries work.

The sciences put their theory papers in October and their multiple-choice papers at the very end. Physics Papers 3 and 4 are on Wednesday 7 October, Chemistry on Monday 12 October and Biology on Friday 16 October. The multiple-choice papers follow about four weeks later: Physics on Thursday 5 November, Biology on Tuesday 10 November and Chemistry on Thursday 12 November, the last day of timetabled papers.

Two subjects in this table need a second look. Economics Paper 1 (0455/13) is in the evening session, so its Key Time is 5:00 pm. And Business Studies 0450 is examined under that code for the last time this year: from 2027, Cambridge examines the subject as Business 0264, with a new code and title.[6]
English as a Second Language comes in two versions, 0510 (Speaking Endorsement) and 0511 (Count-in Speaking). Their papers share the same sessions, and you sit the version your school entered you for.
IGCSE Malay 0546 is missing from the November timetable on purpose: Cambridge examines it in the June series only.[7] That matters in Malaysia, where Malay as a Foreign Language is the most popular Cambridge IGCSE subject.[8]
Speaking tests and practicals with their own dates
Some components have no session at all. Speaking tests run in windows, and your school picks the day; Key Times do not apply to them. The IGCSE ICT practicals and the A Level Computer Science practical each have one fixed day.
| Component | Date or window | Note |
|---|---|---|
| First Language English, Speaking & Listening (Oral Endorsement), 0500/04 | 15 September to 27 October | Your school sets your day |
| ICT Paper 2 (practical), 0417/02 | Thursday, 24 September | One-day test window |

Cambridge AS & A Level November 2026 timetable in Malaysian time
Each paper is marked AS or A Level, as Cambridge's timetable marks it. Cambridge allows three routes: AS Level only; AS in one series and the rest of the A Level in a later one; or every A Level paper in a single series. Our Cambridge A Level page compares the staged and linear routes.
Taking every paper in one series means sitting the AS and A Level papers together. In the three sciences that puts two papers in the same morning session, Paper 2 (AS) and Paper 5 (A Level), each 1 hour 15 minutes: Physics on Wednesday 14 October, Chemistry on Friday 16 October and Biology on Tuesday 20 October. The timetable allows a fully supervised break between two papers in one session.

Three Mathematics papers share the morning of Monday 19 October: Pure Mathematics 2, Mechanics, and Probability & Statistics 2. Under Cambridge's routes a candidate sits only one of them, because Paper 2 belongs to an AS-only route and Papers 4 and 6 cannot be combined at A Level.
Each science also runs its Paper 3 practical on two dates, numbered 35 and 36: Physics on Thursday 8 and Thursday 22 October, Chemistry on Tuesday 29 September and Tuesday 27 October, Biology on Tuesday 6 and Thursday 29 October. Your statement of entry shows which one is yours.

All four subjects sit in the afternoon session, so every paper here has a 1:00 pm Key Time. The AS multiple-choice papers in Accounting and Economics, an hour each, fall in the first week of November.
Results for the series come out on Thursday 7 January 2027 for AS & A Level and Thursday 14 January 2027 for IGCSE and O Level, at 06:00 GMT, which is 2:00 pm in Malaysia.[9]
Which paper variants does Zone 5 sit?
Look at the last digit of a component code. In 0580/22, the first 2 is the paper number and the second 2 is the variant; in 0606/13, Paper 1 is set in variant 3. The Cambridge Handbook treats 11, 12 and 13 as variants of the same component.
Different zones can sit different variants of the same paper, and Cambridge sets grade thresholds for each variant. In June 2026, Zone 5 sat Additional Mathematics variant 2 (0606/12 and 0606/22).[10] An A* on that pair needed 138 marks out of 160, while candidates on variant 1 needed 141.[11] Variants can change between series, too: Zone 5 sits 0606 variant 3 this November. When the November 2026 thresholds come out, find your variant in the table below, then read the row for that variant in Cambridge's threshold table.
| Syllabus | Components Zone 5 sits |

Clashes, two papers in one session and timetable deviations
Clashes are handled by your school. Cambridge asks schools to wait until entries are made and its timetable clash report arrives before applying for anything. Section 1.2.3 of the Handbook then sets the limits:
- Two papers in the same session are sat one after the other, with a fully supervised break between them if needed.
- Candidates can sit up to six hours of exams in a day. A timetable deviation can be considered for a clash of more than 3 hours 45 minutes in one session, more than six hours in a day, or a single period of Full Centre Supervision longer than four hours. A paper moved to the next day must be the one with the latest Key Time.
- A paper can never move to an earlier date, or to more than 24 hours after the Key Time of its session.
- Your school applies on Cambridge's Form 2 at least four weeks before the exam, and you stay under the Key Time and supervision rules throughout.
- Cambridge does not accept public holidays, national, local or school events, school holidays, weddings, work experience, field trips or transport arrangements as reasons.
If you are also sitting SPM 2026 papers this year, the SPM Bahasa Melayu speaking test (26 to 29 October) and English speaking test (2 to 5 November) fall inside the Cambridge series, and SPM written papers begin on Monday 23 November, eleven days after the last Cambridge paper. Our SPM 2026 timetable has every SPM date and time.
What happens if you are late for a Cambridge exam?
The late-arrival rules in section 5.1.10 of the Handbook turn on the Key Time:
| When you arrive | What happens |
|---|---|
| After the paper starts, but before the Key Time | Your school decides whether you may sit it. If you do, you get the full time, and the school does not need to tell Cambridge. |
| After the Key Time, while the paper or the supervision period is still running | Your school may still let you sit, with the full time, but must report it to Cambridge the same day. Your script is marked, but Cambridge may refuse it, and you may get NO RESULT for the syllabus. Cambridge decides by how much chance you had to gain an unfair advantage. |
| After the Key Time, once the paper has finished | You cannot sit the paper, and you are marked absent. |
| For a speaking test or another windowed test | Key Times do not apply. Your school decides whether you can still take it. |
For a listening paper, a late candidate who is allowed in either waits under supervision until the others have finished and then hears the recording from the start, or sits the paper in a separate room. If you are not there when a paper starts, your school may call your parents. Cambridge's rule for a late candidate is strict: talk to no one and use no phone or other device until a member of school staff meets you.
When will the June 2027 Cambridge timetable be released?
Cambridge's calendar for schools says the final timetable for the June 2027 series becomes available on Direct, its portal for schools, at the end of October 2026, together with the Cambridge Guide to Making Entries.[12] A provisional version reached schools at the end of May 2026, through Direct only, and Cambridge notes that the final timetable can differ from it. Once the final timetable is out, dates change only in exceptional circumstances.
For November 2026, schools received the final timetable in late March, and the public Zone 5 PDF is marked Version 1, April 2026. The June 2027 Zone 5 dates are not public yet. We will add them to this page when Cambridge publishes them.
Until then, the June 2026 series is the closest guide. In Zone 5, its papers ran from Thursday 23 April to Tuesday 9 June 2026, and Cambridge's calendar describes the June series as starting in late April and ending in mid-June. Those are the June 2026 dates; June 2027's have not been published.

Syllabuses Malaysian candidates sit for the first time in June 2027
Several redeveloped IGCSE syllabuses are first examined in March 2027. Because the March series is for centres in India only, Malaysian candidates meet them in June 2027.
| Syllabus | What June 2027 brings |
|---|---|
| Accounting 0452, Economics 0455, Environmental Management 0680, First Language English 0500, Geography 0460 | Revised syllabuses, examined in Malaysia for the first time |
| Business 0264 | Replaces Business Studies 0450, with a new code and title |
| Psychology 0266 | New IGCSE; Zone 5 can enter it in June and November |
| Japanese 0716 | New IGCSE, for zones 4 and 5, in June only |
| AS & A Level Geography 9696 and History 9489 | Revised syllabuses, first examined in June 2027 |
| First Language Malay 0696 | Last examination, for zones 4 and 5 only |
Two consequences follow. Anyone who sits Accounting, Economics, Environmental Management, First Language English or Geography this November and resits in June 2027 sits the revised syllabus. And AS Level results from November 2026 can count towards an A Level in June 2027 or November 2027, where the A Level syllabus allows it: Cambridge lets AS results be carried forward twice within 13 months.
Malay 0546 stays a June subject. In the June 2026 series, its speaking window ran from 1 March to 30 April, and its other papers were on 4, 14 and 25 May 2026. A revised 0546 syllabus is first examined in June 2028.
Frequently asked questions
When does the Cambridge November 2026 series start and end in Malaysia?
Timetabled papers in Zone 5 run from Monday 28 September to Thursday 12 November 2026. A few components have their own dates: the IGCSE ICT practical tests are on 24 and 30 September, and the IGCSE English speaking tests run in windows between 15 September and 27 October.
What time do Cambridge exams start in Malaysia?
Your school chooses the start time of each paper. Cambridge sets the Key Times, which in Malaysia are 9:00 am for morning papers, 1:00 pm for afternoon papers and 5:00 pm for evening papers, and you must be in the exam or under full supervision at the Key Time.
Which Cambridge administrative zone is Malaysia in?
Zone 5. Cambridge's lookup gives the same zone and the same Key Times for Singapore and Brunei. Zone 5 timetables are colour-coded blue.
Is there a March Cambridge exam series in Malaysia?
No. For the main IGCSE and AS & A Level syllabuses, Cambridge offers the March series to centres in India only, so Malaysian candidates sit in June or November.
When will the June 2027 Cambridge timetable be released?
Cambridge's calendar says schools receive the final June 2027 timetable on Direct at the end of October 2026. The public Zone 5 PDF has not been published yet; we will add the June 2027 dates to this page when it is.
Which paper variant does Zone 5 sit in November 2026?
It depends on the syllabus: variant 2 for Mathematics 0580 and Physics 0625, variant 3 for Additional Mathematics 0606, Biology 0610, Chemistry 0620 and AS & A Level Mathematics 9709. The variant is the last digit of the component code, and Cambridge sets grade thresholds for each variant.
Can I sit IGCSE Malay 0546 in November?
No. Cambridge examines IGCSE Malay (Foreign Language) 0546 in the June series only.
What happens if I arrive late for a Cambridge exam?
If you arrive before the Key Time, your school decides whether you may sit the paper, with the full time. After the Key Time, while the paper is still running, the school may let you sit but must report it to Cambridge, which may refuse your script. Once the paper has finished, you cannot sit it.
What if two of my Cambridge papers are in the same session?
You sit them one after the other, with a fully supervised break between them if needed. For longer clashes, such as more than 3 hours 45 minutes in one session, your school can apply to Cambridge for a timetable deviation at least four weeks before the exam.
When are the November 2026 Cambridge results released?
AS & A Level results come out on Thursday 7 January 2027 and IGCSE and O Level results on Thursday 14 January 2027, both at 06:00 GMT, which is 2:00 pm in Malaysia.
If Cambridge changes the timetable, its notice to schools and your school's own exam timetable take precedence over this page.
