Financial Accounting and Reporting Tuition Online (MFRS)
Financial Accounting and Reporting for degree students: the Conceptual Framework and the MFRS standards on inventories, property, revenue, leases and more, through to group accounts.
Afterkelas tutors Financial Accounting and Reporting online for university students in accounting and business programmes. Tutors run live classes, 1-to-1 or in small groups, on the MFRS standards, the workings and the written justification your course examines.

Standards, not only bookkeeping
Financial Accounting and Reporting moves from recording transactions to applying the standards that decide how they appear in published accounts. In Malaysia those are the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards, issued by the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board and converged with IFRS, so questions ask what a standard requires and why, as well as for the numbers.
Standards change over time, and presentation of financial statements moves to a new standard for periods beginning on or after 1 January 2027, so tutors work from the version your course examines.
Where marks are lost
Marks are lost to workings that are not shown, to treatments that ignore what the standard requires, such as capitalising costs that should be expensed, and to explanations that quote a rule without applying it to the case. Tutors practise the computation and the short written justification together.
Working from your course outline
Each university sets its own order and depth, so the tutor starts from your course outline, tutorial questions and past papers. Assessed work is your own; the tutor explains the standards behind it with similar cases.
A question, worked through
A property, plant and equipment problem: straight-line depreciation and a disposal.
Question
A company buys a machine for RM120,000 on 1 January 2024. It expects a residual value of RM20,000 after 5 years and uses straight-line depreciation. On 1 January 2026 it sells the machine for RM70,000. Calculate the annual depreciation, the carrying amount at the date of sale, and the gain or loss on disposal.
- Depreciable amount = cost − residual value = RM120,000 − RM20,000 = RM100,000.
- Annual depreciation = RM100,000 ÷ 5 = RM20,000.
- By 1 January 2026, two years have passed: accumulated depreciation = RM40,000, so the carrying amount = RM120,000 − RM40,000 = RM80,000.
- The proceeds of RM70,000 are below the carrying amount, so there is a loss on disposal of RM10,000, recognised in profit or loss.
Answer Depreciation RM20,000 a year; carrying amount RM80,000; loss on disposal RM10,000.
Frequently asked questions
Do you teach consolidation and group accounts?
Yes. Group accounts reward a fixed method for each adjustment, and the tutor drills that method step by step.
Are the standards the same as IFRS?
The MFRS framework is converged with IFRS, so the requirements match, with Malaysian numbering and effective dates set by MASB.
When should Financial Accounting tuition start?
Early in the semester, before the first standard-heavy topic, since workings and justification are practised throughout.
How much does Financial Accounting and Reporting tuition cost?
The fee depends on the format (1-to-1 or a small group), how many classes a week and the tutor, so there is no single figure. Send an academic advisor the university, the course code and the course outline on WhatsApp, and you will get the current packages and a quote, usually within one working day.
