Edexcel results day 2027 falls on four Thursdays: 21 January 2027 for October 2026 International A Level (IAL) units and November 2026 International GCSE, 4 March 2027 for January 2027 IAL, 12 August 2027 for June 2027 IAL, and 19 August 2027 for June 2027 International GCSE.[1] Results open on ResultsPlus Direct at 9:00 am UK time, which is 5:00 pm in Malaysia in January and March and 4:00 pm in August.[2]

Pearson's public results page still lists dates only up to June 2026.[3] The 2027 dates sit in the key dates section of its Information Manual, a PDF written for exams officers, and the release time appears only in UK time on another page. This guide puts both on Malaysian time, then covers what to do once the results are out: reading your results slip, finding your grade boundary row, asking for a review and planning a resit before entries close.

When is Edexcel results day 2027?

Every results day is a Thursday. Schools and colleges receive the results a day earlier, on the Wednesday, but Pearson lets them give results to students only from the Thursday.

For comparison, the same series reported on 22 January, 5 March, 13 August and 20 August in 2026. If Pearson revises a 2027 date, its notice to centres overrides this page.

Is there a January 2027 International GCSE results day?

Not for a January exam, because there is none. Pearson runs International GCSE, often called Edexcel IGCSE, in two series a year: May/June and November.[4] The International GCSE results on 21 January 2027 are for the November 2026 papers, sat from 27 October to 19 November 2026. The January series belongs to International A Level: those papers run from 8 to 25 January 2027 and report on 4 March 2027.[5]

October is the smallest IAL series. In October 2026 only Accounting, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics and Physics are examined, from 8 to 30 October, so those are the only IAL subjects with results on 21 January.

What time are Edexcel results released in Malaysia?

Pearson sets one release time for every country, and gives it in UK time. ResultsPlus Direct, its online results service for students, opens at 9:00 am UK time on results day. Pearson also allows students to receive results from 8:00 am UK time, so that is the earliest your school or college can hand them out.

The gap to Malaysia changes with the British clocks. The UK is on GMT from 25 October 2026 and moves to British Summer Time (BST) on 28 March 2027,[6] so the August results reach Malaysia an hour earlier in the afternoon than the January and March ones.

Singapore and Brunei share Malaysia's clock, so the same times apply there. From 8:00 am UK time, each school or college decides when and how it releases results, so ask your exams officer what time to expect yours.

How to check your Edexcel results on ResultsPlus Direct

ResultsPlus Direct is free. Besides your grades, it shows a question-by-question breakdown of each paper, and it keeps all your Edexcel results from the centre that registered you, International A Level and International GCSE included. You cannot sign up yourself: your school or college decides whether to register you.[7]

Getting into ResultsPlus Direct
  1. Ask your exams officer if you are registered
  2. Enter the verification code they give you
  3. Get your username and password by email
  4. Log in from 9:00 am UK time on results day

On results day the service stays closed until 9:00 am UK time, so there is no point refreshing it at 3:00 pm in August. Each account belongs to one centre and one Unique Candidate Identifier (UCI), so a student who sat papers at two centres, or under two UCIs, may need two accounts.

If you are not registered, nothing is lost: you collect your results from your school or college as usual. Private candidates should ask the centre that entered them how it releases results; during the results period, Pearson points private candidates who need help to its learner, parent and carer support team, reached through its online contact portal. The student login page is at resultsplusdirect.co.uk.

Reading an International A Level results slip

IAL results come unit by unit. Unit codes start with W (WMA11 is Pure Mathematics 1, for example), and the slip shows a grade and a UMS mark for each one. An overall grade appears only when your centre enters you for the cash-in: codes starting with X are International AS qualifications, and codes starting with Y are full International A Levels.[8]

Units and International AS grades run from A to E. A full International A Level adds A*, which needs an overall A plus at least 90% of the UMS marks available on the A2 units; in Mathematics that means at least 480 of 600 UMS overall and at least 180 of 200 across P3 and P4. A "#" after a grade, as in E#, means the qualification was cashed in although not every unit was sat. The slip shows UMS marks; for the raw mark on a unit, ask your exams officer.

Reading an International GCSE result

International GCSE subjects are graded from 9, the highest, down to 1, with U for unclassified. In the usual linear route you sit all the papers for a subject in one series, and your grade comes from your combined raw mark. Pearson does not show raw marks on the International GCSE results slip, so ask your exams officer for them if you want to compare your total with the grade boundaries.[9]

Edexcel grade boundaries 2027: when they come out and which row is yours

Pearson posts grade boundaries on each results day, as one PDF per qualification and series on its grade boundaries page: 21 January 2027 for the October and November series, 4 March for January, and 12 and 19 August for June. Many subjects have two rows, though, and the one that applies to you depends on which version of the paper you sat.

International GCSE: Malaysian candidates sit R papers in May and June

In the May/June series most International GCSE subjects have two versions of each paper. The second, the R (regional) paper, lets candidates in time zones ahead of the UK sit their exams earlier in the day rather than late in the evening, and centres in Malaysia enter their candidates for it. R papers have their own boundaries, in rows whose paper codes end in R, such as 1HR and 2HR for Mathematics A Higher. In June 2026 the gaps between the two rows were wide, and they did not all run the same way.[10]

International GCSE, June 2026: raw marks needed on the main and R papers
June 2026 subjectGrade 9, mainGrade 9, RGrade 4, mainGrade 4, R
Mathematics A Higher, 4MA1 (out of 200)1651714145
Physics, 4PH1 (out of 180)1381347267
Chemistry, 4CH1 (out of 180)1411506677
Biology, 4BI1 (out of 180)1421466780

A Malaysian candidate who scored 168 in Mathematics A Higher in June 2026 would find a 9 on the main row, but on the R row, the one for the papers they actually sat, 168 was an 8. In Physics the R row was the lower one. A few subjects, such as Computer Science, have no R version, so they have a single row. The November series has one version of each paper, so the November 2026 boundaries published on 21 January 2027 have no R rows to choose between.

International A Level: Unit 1 and Unit 1A rows

The IAL boundaries list many units twice, as "Unit 1" and "Unit 1A" for example, with different raw boundaries for each version of the paper. Pearson's boundary document does not say which centres sit which version. Before you turn a raw mark into a grade, check the paper code on your statement of entry or results, or ask your exams officer which version you sat.[11]

International A Level, June 2026: raw marks needed for an A on each version
June 2026 unitA on the Unit 1 or 2 rowA on the Unit 1A or 2A row
WMA11 Pure Mathematics 1 (out of 75)5446
WMA12 Pure Mathematics 2 (out of 75)4856
WCH12 Chemistry Unit 2 (out of 80)6549
WPH11 Physics Unit 1 (out of 80)6060

The UMS scale is identical for both versions: an A is 80 of 100 UMS on a Mathematics unit and 96 of 120 on the science units above. Your slip already shows the grade and the UMS mark, so the version only matters when you convert a raw mark yourself, for example from a returned script.

Reviews of marking after Edexcel results: services, deadlines and fees

If a grade looks wrong, your school or college can ask Pearson to check it, with your permission. Private candidates can apply through the centre where they sat the exam or go to Pearson directly. In every service your marks can go up, go down or stay the same.[12]

Pearson's post-results services
ServiceWhat Pearson checksOutcome within

Review of marking (Service 2)A clerical check, plus a senior examiner reviewing the marking against the mark scheme20 calendar days
Priority review of marking (Service P2)The same review, processed faster, for students whose university or college place depends on the outcome15 calendar days

When to apply: the June 2026 deadlines as a guide

Pearson publishes the deadlines for each series separately, and the most recent ones are for June 2026. They show the pattern: the priority review closed a week after results day, and the clerical check and review of marking closed on 24 September.[13]

Post-results deadlines for the June 2026 series (the last published)

Priority review of marking (P2)20 August 202627 August 2026
Clerical check and review of marking24 September 202624 September 2026
Copy of your marked script (photocopy service)11 December 202611 December 2026

Expect the 2027 deadlines to follow the same shape, but work to the date your centre gives you. Requests reach Pearson through its Edexcel Online system, Pearson does not accept late ones, and your centre needs time to get your permission and may ask you to pay before it applies.[14]

How much a review of marking costs

These are the fees Pearson charges centres outside the UK for requests made from 1 August 2025 to 31 December 2026. Fees for requests from 1 January 2027, which would cover the January and March 2027 results, have not been published yet.[15]

Pearson's international post-results fees, 1 August 2025 to 31 December 2026
ServiceInternational A Level, per unitInternational GCSE, per paper
Clerical check (Service 1)£14£14
Review of marking (Service 2)£57£50
Priority review of marking (P2)£68£60

If a clerical check or review changes your grade, Pearson waives the fee; for an IAL unit that has not been cashed in yet, a change in the unit grade counts. Your centre can view and download electronically marked scripts free of charge through Pearson's script portal, and seeing your marked paper first helps you judge whether a review is worth asking for.

When a university place depends on the result

The priority review is meant for students whose place depends on the outcome. For UCAS applicants, Pearson sends IAL results to UCAS the day before results day, and sends any grade changed by a review within 24 hours of issuing it. If your offer is from a Malaysian university or another university outside UCAS, tell the admissions office as soon as your centre confirms a changed grade.

IAL resits in 2027: the January deadline comes before the October results

Pearson's last day for centres to enter students for the January 2027 IAL series is 16 October 2026. From 17 October the entry fee doubles, and from 14 November 2026 it trebles. The October papers run from 8 to 30 October, and their results arrive on 21 January 2027, when the January papers have already started.

Pearson's date is the last day your centre can submit entries, so the centre's own closing date for students can be earlier. If January is too soon, the next IAL series is June 2027. Its entries close on 21 March 2027, after both the 21 January and the 4 March results, so you can decide with your grades in hand.

Your results arrive while the January papers are already running. A January resit means entering by 16 October 2026 without your October grade. If you would rather see the grade first, June 2027 is the first series you can enter after it comes out, and its entries close on 21 March.

How IAL resits count

You can resit an IAL unit as many times as you like. When your overall grade is worked out, Pearson uses the better of your two most recent attempts at each unit, as long as both were entered under the same UCI. The new overall grade is not automatic: your centre has to enter you for the cash-in, and Pearson charges a fee for cash-in requests made after the entry deadline. Mathematics students should check they are entered for every cash-in they qualify for, because cashing in can lock units to one qualification and stop Pearson working out the best possible grade.

When do Edexcel certificates arrive?

Certificates go to your school or college, not to your home, months after results day. The slip you get on the day is a statement of provisional results.

When Pearson issues Edexcel certificates
SeriesCertificates issued by
November 2026 International GCSEFebruary 2027
October 2026 International A LevelMarch 2027
January 2027 International A LevelApril 2027
June 2027, both qualificationsNot published yet (June 2026 certificates were due by November 2026)

A certificate is held back while a review of marking on that subject is still open. Collect yours once your centre has it: centres may destroy uncollected certificates after keeping them for 12 months.

Edexcel results day checklist

Before results day

  • Ask your exams officer whether you are registered for ResultsPlus Direct, and validate your account with the verification code well before the day.
  • Ask what time your school or college will release results, and in what form.
  • Keep the entry details your centre gave you, which list the units or papers you were entered for.
  • If you hold a conditional offer, have the conditions and the admissions office's contact details ready.

On the day

  • Log in at 5:00 pm Malaysia time on 21 January or 4 March, or at 4:00 pm on 12 or 19 August.
  • Check every unit or paper and, for IAL, that each overall grade you expected is there.
  • Open the grade boundaries PDF and find the row with your paper codes.
  • If a grade is a few marks below a boundary and a place depends on it, talk to your exams officer about a priority review that week.

After results day

  • Decide on reviews before your centre's deadline, which can be earlier than Pearson's.
  • Decide on resits before the next entry deadline: 21 March 2027 for the June series.
  • Collect your certificate when your centre says it has arrived.

ResultsPlus Direct opens at 9:00 am UK time: 5:00 pm in Malaysia on 21 January and 4 March 2027, and 4:00 pm on 12 and 19 August 2027. Pearson lets schools give out results from 8:00 am UK time (4:00 pm in Malaysia in January and March, 3:00 pm in August), and each school or college sets its own time from then.

How do I get a ResultsPlus Direct login?

Only through your school or college. If it registers you, your exams officer gives you a verification code to validate the account, and Pearson emails you a username and password. If you are not registered, you collect your results from your school or college instead.

Is there a January International GCSE exam?

No. Pearson runs International GCSE in the May/June and November series only. The International GCSE results released on 21 January 2027 are for the November 2026 papers.

When are Edexcel grade boundaries published?

On each results day: 21 January, 4 March, 12 August and 19 August 2027, as PDFs on Pearson's grade boundaries page. Malaysian International GCSE candidates in the June series should read the R-paper rows.

For requests up to 31 December 2026, Pearson's international fees are £57 per International A Level unit and £50 per International GCSE paper, or £68 and £60 for a priority review. A clerical check is £14. Pearson waives the fee if your grade changes, and your school or college may ask you to pay before it applies.

How many times can I resit an International A Level unit?

As many times as you like. Pearson uses the better of your two most recent attempts at a unit when it works out your overall grade, provided both were entered under the same Unique Candidate Identifier, and your centre has to request the new cash-in.

When will I get my Edexcel certificate?

Pearson issues November 2026 International GCSE certificates by February 2027, October 2026 International A Level certificates by March 2027 and January 2027 certificates by April 2027. They go to your school or college.
