The Edexcel IGCSE timetable has two series ahead for Malaysian candidates. November 2026 runs from Tuesday 27 October to Thursday 19 November 2026, and every written paper starts at 5:00 pm Malaysia time. May/June 2027 runs from Monday 10 May to Friday 18 June 2027, and Malaysian candidates sit Pearson's regional R papers, which start at 1:00 pm or 4:00 pm.[1]
Both timetables are final, and there is no January International GCSE series: Pearson runs the International GCSE in May/June and November only. Its timetables give each paper a date and a UK session, Morning or Afternoon, and leave local clock times to a separate start-time document for each series.[2] This guide puts the two together, paper by paper, in Malaysia time. Singapore and Brunei share the same times.
Afterkelas is an online tuition school, not an exam centre, so if your centre's timetable ever differs from this page, follow your centre. We will update the page if Pearson changes a date.
What time do Edexcel IGCSE exams start in Malaysia?
Pearson names its sessions by the UK clock, and the UK puts its clocks back on 25 October 2026 and forward on 28 March 2027. Malaysia is therefore eight hours ahead of the UK for the whole November series and seven hours ahead in May and June. The version of the paper then moves the time again.
| Series and paper | Morning paper | Afternoon paper |
|---|---|---|
| November 2026, every subject | 5:00 pm (9:00 am UK) | Not used for written papers |
| May/June 2027, R papers | 1:00 pm (6:00 am UK) | 4:00 pm (9:00 am UK) |
| May/June 2027, subjects with no R paper | 4:00 pm (9:00 am UK) | Timed to end close to 8:30 pm |
Your centre may start a paper up to 30 minutes earlier or later than these times without asking Pearson, and anyone who starts early stays under supervision until an hour after the published start. If the British Council runs your exam, Pearson's guidance is to check the exact times with the British Council.
Edexcel IGCSE timetable November 2026 in Malaysia time
Pearson calls this the November 2026 series, although it opens in October. The first papers are Arabic and Commerce on Tuesday 27 October, and the last are Economics Paper 2 and Human Biology Paper 2 on Thursday 19 November. November has only one version of each paper, scheduled in the UK morning so that centres around the world can run it at a reasonable local hour. In Malaysia, that hour is 5:00 pm.
The table covers mathematics, the sciences, English, the business subjects, ICT and Chinese. Pearson's PDF lists the rest, including Geography, History, Human Biology, Commerce and the other languages.

Science (Double Award) candidates sit Papers 1B, 1C and 1P on the same days and in the same session as Biology Paper 1B, Chemistry Paper 1C and Physics Paper 1P. Modular units, whose codes begin with 4W, also sit on the same day and in the same session as the linear paper they match. Only the science units run to a different length: 1 hour 40 minutes for each Biology, Chemistry and Physics unit, and 1 hour 10 minutes for each Science (Double Award) unit.
Two papers on the same evening
Every November paper sits in the same 5:00 pm session, so two papers on one day are taken one after the other. Physics Paper 1P (2 hours) and Economics Paper 1 (1 hour 30 minutes) share Wednesday 11 November, and Mathematics A Paper 1 shares Wednesday 4 November with English Literature Paper 1. A candidate with both papers that day sits for three and a half to four hours and finishes at 8:30 pm or later, so plan dinner and transport around your centre's actual timings.
Not offered in November
Computer Science (4CP0) has no November 2026 papers. Its next sitting is May/June 2027, with Paper 1 on Monday 10 May.
Edexcel IGCSE timetable May/June 2027 (R papers) in Malaysia time
The May/June 2027 series runs from Monday 10 May to Friday 18 June 2027. Malaysian centres enter candidates for the R version of every paper that has one, so the times below are R-paper times, apart from Computer Science, which has only a main paper. | Fri 18 Jun | Physics (4PH1) Paper 2PR | 1:00 pm (Morning) | 1h 15m |
The Double Award and modular rules from November apply here too: Papers 1BR, 1CR and 1PR sit with Biology, Chemistry and Physics Paper 1, and each modular unit sits with its linear paper. Pearson corrected the dates of four Science (Double Award) modular R units on 12 August 2026, and the dates on this page include that correction.[3]
English as a Second Language has a fourth unit, Speaking (4WES4), that does not appear in either timetable. It is an oral exam held during a window Pearson sets, and your centre gives you the date.[4]
Two things help with revision planning. No R paper is scheduled from Saturday 29 May to Wednesday 2 June. And the sciences finish last: Biology Paper 2BR on 10 June, Chemistry Paper 2CR on 15 June and Physics Paper 2PR on 18 June.
What are Edexcel IGCSE R papers?
An R paper is the regional version of an International GCSE paper. Pearson writes it so that more candidates around the world can sit their exams earlier in the day instead of late into the evening, and in May/June it is used in 24 countries, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei among them. Centres in those countries enter R codes, such as 4BI1 R, so a Malaysian Biology candidate sits Paper 1BR rather than Paper 1B.
The R paper carries the same date and session label as the main paper, but it is a different question paper with its own grade boundaries. That matters whenever you turn a past-paper score into a grade: Pearson's boundary tables give separate rows for the main and the R papers, and the R boundary can be higher or lower.
| Subject | Main paper | R paper |
|---|---|---|
| Mathematics A, Higher tier (4MA1) | 111 of 200 | 119 of 200 |
| Further Pure Mathematics (4PM1) | 152 of 200 | 134 of 200 |
| Physics (4PH1) | 105 of 180 | 99 of 180 |
| Chemistry (4CH1) | 103 of 180 | 111 of 180 |
| Biology (4BI1) | 112 of 180 | 117 of 180 |
In June 2026, a grade 7 in Mathematics A at Higher tier took 119 marks out of 200 on the R papers and 111 on the main papers. Further Pure Mathematics went the other way, with 134 on the R papers against 152 on the main ones.[5] Boundaries are set again every series, and the 2027 ones arrive only on results day, so treat these as a guide to reading past-paper scores.
Which Edexcel IGCSE subjects have no R paper?
Pearson lists 14 May/June subjects with only a main paper: Arabic, Art and Design, Bangla, Bangladesh Studies, Computer Science, Global Citizenship, Greek, Islamic Studies, Pakistan Studies, Religious Studies, Science (Single Award), Sinhala, Swahili and Tamil. Malaysian candidates sit these at main-paper times, so a Morning paper starts at 4:00 pm, three hours later than an R Morning paper. The table below covers the Morning papers in six of these subjects. Pearson's main timetable lists the rest, including the Afternoon papers.
| Paper | Date | Starts in Malaysia | R paper at the same time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Computer Science (4CP0) Paper 1 | Mon 10 May | 4:00 pm (Morning) | German (4GN1) Papers 1R and 2R |
| Religious Studies (4RS1) Paper 1 | Thu 13 May | 4:00 pm (Morning) | Economics (4EC1) Paper 1R |
| Religious Studies (4RS1) Paper 2 | Fri 21 May | 4:00 pm (Morning) | Business (4BS1) Paper 2R |
| Islamic Studies (4IS1) Paper 1 | Wed 26 May | 4:00 pm (Morning) | Geography (4GE1) Paper 2R |
| Tamil (4TA1) Paper 1 | Fri 4 Jun | 4:00 pm (Morning) | None |
| Global Citizenship (4GL1) Paper 1 | Wed 9 Jun | 4:00 pm (Morning) | Further Pure Mathematics (4PM1) Paper 2R |
| Science (Single Award) (4SS0) Papers 1B (10 June), 1C (15 June) and 1P (18 June) | Thu 10, Tue 15 and Fri 18 Jun | 4:00 pm (Morning) | Commerce (4CM1) Paper 2R, on 10 June |
The last column shows clashes that do not exist in the UK. There, Islamic Studies is a morning paper and Geography Paper 2 an afternoon one; in Malaysia, Islamic Studies and Geography Paper 2R both start at 4:00 pm on Wednesday 26 May. If you are entered for one of these pairs, tell your exams officer early. The centre has to run the two papers one after the other, and moving a start by more than 30 minutes needs Pearson's approval.
Afternoon papers in main-only subjects, such as Arabic on Monday 10 May and Thursday 20 May, are timed to end close to 8:30 pm. Pearson's own example is a two-hour paper starting at 6:30 pm. Candidates stay under centre supervision until 8:30 pm, and Pearson does not allow parents to take over that supervision.
How to build your own Edexcel IGCSE timetable
- Ask your centre for the papers you are entered for, with their codes, such as 4MA1 1HR.
- Find each paper's date and session in the tables above or in Pearson's PDF.
- November 2026: every written paper starts at 5:00 pm.
- May/June 2027: a code ending in R starts at 1:00 pm (Morning) or 4:00 pm (Afternoon).
- A May/June code with no R starts at 4:00 pm, or, in the Afternoon, ends close to 8:30 pm.
- Check your centre's own start times, which can move by up to 30 minutes.
Pearson publishes both timetables as PDF and Excel files on its exam timetables page. If you come across a provisional 2027 timetable, put it aside: the final versions replaced it in May 2026.
Edexcel IGCSE June 2027 entry deadline and late fees
Pearson opens June 2027 entries to centres on Friday 20 November 2026 and closes them for international centres on Sunday 21 March 2027.[6] After the deadline the entry fee for each subject doubles, and from Thursday 22 April it trebles.
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| Fri 20 Nov 2026 | Centres can start submitting June 2027 entries |
| Sun 31 Jan 2027 | Last day for centres to order modified papers for candidates with access arrangements |
| Sun 21 Mar 2027 | Entry deadline for international centres |
| Mon 22 Mar 2027 | Late entries begin: the entry fee is doubled |
| Thu 22 Apr 2027 | High late fees: the entry fee is trebled, changing a tier or option costs an amendment fee, and withdrawals are refunded only with medical evidence |
| Sat 15 May 2027 | Coursework marks due at Pearson, in subjects that have coursework |
Your centre's deadline comes first, because it needs time to collect forms and payment before it submits to Pearson. For the November 2026 series, one Kuala Lumpur exam centre closed normal entries on 4 September, eight days before Pearson's 12 September deadline.[7] Ask your school's exams officer, or your centre if you are a private candidate, for its June 2027 date.
Private candidates enter through a Pearson-approved centre, which Pearson's Find an international centre search lists, and each centre sets its own fees.[8]
Still entering for November 2026? Pearson's late period, with the fee doubled, runs to 9 October, and from 10 October the fee is trebled. A centre's own late period may end sooner.
Modular and onscreen Edexcel IGCSE exams
Schools outside the UK can now take 14 International GCSEs by a modular route: Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, English as a Second Language, English Language A, English Literature, Geography, History, Mathematics A, Physics, Religious Studies and Science (Double Award). Units can be sat in any series, May/June or November, and resat. Once every unit is done, the school asks Pearson to cash in Definition The school's request to Pearson to turn a student's unit results into one overall grade for the qualification. the results for a grade, which does not happen automatically.[9]
Some subjects can also be sat on a computer at the centre, if the school offers it: English Language A and English Literature since 2022; Business, Economics and History since 2024; Geography, Global Citizenship, Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies since 2025; and ICT and English as a Second Language in 2026. Pearson lists International GCSE Computer Science for 2027 but has not yet confirmed it. The questions are the same and the exams run at the same time, so the times on this page apply on screen too.[10]
Physics equation sheet and dictionaries in 2026 and 2027
You do not need to memorise physics equations. International GCSE Physics candidates get a full equation sheet in both series on this page: Pearson had already confirmed it for 2026 and 2027, and in June 2026 extended it to 2028 and beyond, for the life of the current specifications. It also covers the physics papers in Science (Double Award) and Science (Single Award).[11]
The same Pearson update allows a bilingual translation dictionary in International GCSE science exams for candidates whose first language is not English and who normally use one in lessons. Dictionaries that give definitions or contain diagrams are not allowed, and the permission does not cover subjects such as English Literature, Geography and History. Raise it with your exams officer well before exam day.
When are Edexcel IGCSE results released?
| Series | Results day | ResultsPlus Direct opens |
|---|---|---|
| November 2026 | Thursday 21 January 2027 | 5:00 pm Malaysia time (9:00 am UK) |
| May/June 2027 | Thursday 19 August 2027 | 4:00 pm Malaysia time (9:00 am UK) |
Pearson lets schools give results to students from 8:00 am UK time, which is 4:00 pm in Malaysia in January and 3:00 pm in August, and ResultsPlus Direct, its free results service for students, opens an hour later.[12] Centres receive results a day earlier, on 20 January and 18 August, but cannot pass them on before results day. Pearson posts the grade boundaries on results day too.
Dates to plan around in Malaysia
- Deepavali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026, and Chemistry Paper 1C is the next day, Monday 9 November, at 5:00 pm.
- Two May/June exam days are public holidays in Malaysia: Wesak Day on Thursday 20 May 2027, when Accounting Paper 1R starts at 1:00 pm, and the Agong's official birthday on Monday 7 June 2027, when English as a Second Language Unit 3R starts at 1:00 pm and Chinese at 4:00 pm. Pearson's papers still run on the timetabled day.[13]
- Pearson keeps a contingency slot on the day after the last paper of each series, in case a paper has to move: Friday 20 November 2026 for November, and the day after Friday 18 June 2027 for May/June. Book flights for after it.[14]
- Sitting SPM 2026 as well? Its speaking tests (26 October to 5 November) and science practicals (16 to 18 November) fall inside the November series, but every one of those sessions ends before 5:00 pm, and the SPM written papers start on 23 November, after the last IGCSE paper. Our SPM 2026 timetable has every date.
Frequently asked questions
When does the Edexcel IGCSE November 2026 series start and end?
It runs from Tuesday 27 October to Thursday 19 November 2026. In Malaysia every written paper starts at 5:00 pm, because every November written paper is a UK Morning paper, set for 9:00 am UK time.
What time do Edexcel IGCSE exams start in Malaysia?
In November 2026, every written paper starts at 5:00 pm. In May/June 2027, R papers start at 1:00 pm (Morning) or 4:00 pm (Afternoon). Subjects with no R paper, such as Computer Science, start at 4:00 pm, and their Afternoon papers are timed to end close to 8:30 pm. Centres may move a start by up to 30 minutes.
Is there a January 2027 Edexcel IGCSE exam?
No. There is no January International GCSE series: Pearson runs the International GCSE in May/June and November only. January is an International A Level series, so the next International GCSE papers after November 2026 are in May/June 2027.
What is an R paper in Edexcel IGCSE?
It is the regional version of a paper, used in May/June in Malaysia and 23 other countries so that more candidates can sit in the daytime. It has the same date and session as the main paper but different questions and its own grade boundaries. In June 2026 a grade 7 in Mathematics A Higher took 119 marks out of 200 on the R papers and 111 on the main papers.
Is the Edexcel IGCSE May/June 2027 timetable final?
Yes. Pearson published the final R-paper timetable on 12 May 2026 and the final main timetable on 20 May 2026, then corrected four Science (Double Award) modular dates on 12 August 2026. A provisional 2027 timetable is out of date.
When is the Edexcel IGCSE Computer Science exam in 2027?
Paper 1 is on Monday 10 May 2027 at 4:00 pm Malaysia time, because Computer Science has no R paper. Paper 2, the three-hour practical paper, runs in a window from Monday 7 to Wednesday 9 June, and your centre sets the day and time. There is no Computer Science sitting in November 2026.
What is the deadline to register for Edexcel IGCSE June 2027?
Pearson's deadline for international centres is Sunday 21 March 2027. The entry fee doubles from 22 March and trebles from 22 April. Centres set earlier deadlines of their own, and private candidates enter through a Pearson-approved centre.
When are Edexcel IGCSE results released?
November 2026 results come out on Thursday 21 January 2027 and May/June 2027 results on Thursday 19 August 2027. Schools may give students their results from 8:00 am UK time (4:00 pm Malaysia time in January, 3:00 pm in August), and ResultsPlus Direct opens at 9:00 am UK time (5:00 pm in January, 4:00 pm in August).
Do I need to memorise equations for Edexcel IGCSE Physics?
No. Pearson gives International GCSE Physics candidates a full equation sheet in 2026 and 2027 and has extended it to 2028 and beyond. It also covers the physics papers in Science (Double Award) and Science (Single Award).
If Pearson or your centre changes a date or a time, their notice takes precedence over this page.
